2 weeks left.

13 06 2010

Today hit the ’14 days left’ of my semester. I know I haven’t written much about it. Personally cos I never picked up the habit. I’m always so stressed out about something. Maybe because my life isn’t as organized as I wanted it to be. I want to pick up a lot of habits. Habit of waking up early, of eating right, of setting study times where it’s appropriate. I need a PDA. Yes, I admit it. Where it exists, humans will seek to use it. Where a PDA exists, a pen and paper would seem like caveman stuff. My dad keeps telling me I don’t need it. That my own willpower to keep up to a schedule would be enough. Well what about the cars sitting outside in the driveway? Why walk to 7-Eleven to pick up some bread when you can spend a 10th of the time just simply driving there? Why use the stairs when you can just push a button and the floor goes upwards? Where there is convenience on-hand, why not use it? Why draft out a timetable when I can use a pocketable piece of tech to keep my schedule. Currently, I am using my phone to tell me what class I have when. Though, I seriously think that’s not enough.

So back to the real world.

Semester is approaching an end. Just pass this semester, and I can dive into the world of Bachelor of Engineering. Personally, I believe that this semester didn’t go as well as I expected it to be. So much free time that I made no good use of. Now for the next week or so, I would be digging my own grave unless I do something to save my final exam.

I’ll be starting on a project once I get back, so expect a lot more posts regarding my progress. Till then, I’m off to hit the books.

Happy Wesak Day everyone.

Rewiring.

23 05 2010

Yesterday it rained the whole morning. Beginning from the night time like around 3am. It was such nice weather that morning. Very cool.

Other than that, I don’t really have much to say except that this coming week is gonna be one killer one. Slide show for Physics oral presentation needs to be finalized and submitted. Which is kinda stupid because it was unnecessary for any progress report to be submitted for Chemistry case study last semester. I liked that presentation. One of the few things in that semester I felt like I could be proud of. Haih. There’s also the ‘salvation’ paper for Physics on the 27th, I shall not screw that up. There’s a few Programming lab sheets needed to be done. Another thing about Physics, is the lab report of the last lab session. Where’s my data? T_T

I have to rewire my brain. I need to tell myself I need to start working. This kind of habit is in no way any good for me. I’ve relaxed too much. Need to tighten that sphincter and get to work!

Oh, I wanna show this..

CONTACT LENSES!?

13 05 2010

Yeah. So, my friend Summer actually has a business of selling contact lenses. I’m not here to promote that because clearly, they are not for the non-Oriental (Chinese, Korean, Japanese) market. Well, I’m mostly talking about the Malays, but I doubt Ibans or the like would look good in these either. They’re coloured contact lenses. But they increase the size of the iris making eyes look bigger.

Honestly, I frighten myself looking in the mirror while wearing these. They are way too freaky. I look like a dead pixie wearing those things. Summer, I am never buying contact lenses from you ever again. Haih.

Laundry.

11 05 2010

No, KL-ites, not the bar. Today I wanted to do laundry. I had time when I came back around 10am from class this morning. Then it rained. I haven’t started yet. So, at around 1pm, I went back to class. Apparently, without a proper projector, Mr. Elayarajah can’t finish his lecture. So we finished early, around 2.30 when the lecture started at 1.30. Supposedly, the class finished at 3.30.

So I came back at around 2.50 and decided to have some late lunch. After I was done, I went back and threw everything in the machine. Here’s what happened. I looked out of the laundry house, there was no one. I wanted to throw the shirt I was wearing in the laundry. So I did. I went out, there I saw Mahirah waving at me from the other end of the street. I waved back, with my magnificent man-boobs out in the open. Sweet. -.-

Now I’m waiting for my laundry to be done. It should be done now. So I’m gonna check. La’er.

Dynamos power the bicycle.

10 05 2010

It’s monday again. Now I know how Garfield feels. I zipped through Programming this morning with a little help from Manfrate. Smart kid. One of the good kinds of smart.

Too bad he had to leave for a medical checkup at Miri General. After Programming, we have Physics tutorial. Kinda complicated, but it seems manageable. We all found out our internal marks seeing that there won’t be anymore progress sheets. Just left is the finals, totaling up that lab marks and the oral presentation. OOH! I so have to do a post about my ideas. :D After the presentation. xD

So, after the tutorial, there was time before Engineering Mathematics. I decided to have a short meeting with my Physics lab group. Deciding to do something special for the presentation. After a small lunch, there was E. Maths. So we moved. Integration as Anti-Derivatives. Derivatives is Differentiation. Integration is the opposite of Differentiation. Essentially, Integration is Anti-Derivatives. What else could it be? This is a more advanced form of Integration than what I studied in secondary. Of course it is. Although, it’s still Integration.

Then we did something true to our nature as the least academically-adept class in Foundation Sem 2, a bunch of us skipped Physics lecture.

Seriously, my parents had to pay RM6k a semester for me to get an international education, and I’m stuck in Physics with this transfer lecturer from UiTM. I abstained myself from going to a government college because of my weakness in understanding science topics in Bahasa Melayu, and here we have this woman who goes way too fast, hardly understandable and puts an S in front of almost every word. Gosh, Australian education, my foot. -.-

So now, I’m home doing this blog post. Later I shall open up some E. Maths and prepare for tomorrow’s Chemistry lab experiment.

I’ll rant about something else other than my education next time. For now, that’s all.

Work.

10 05 2010

What work do I have that’s to be done this week?

Physics Lab,
Chemistry Lab,
Programming Labsheet,
ECS assignment,
Study,
Study,
Study.

Again?

9 05 2010

Yesterday was E. Maths mid terms. But I don’t ever wanna talk about that ever again. Move on.

After the exam, about 17 of us took a trip in 3 cars to Sean’s house in Prima Villa. A gated community and a bungalow there costs like, half a mil. That’s cheap compared to the possible 2 mil you have to pay for a condo in KL. The house was nice, quiet, and homey. Haha. After leaving the place, we went straight to Bintang to have lunch. Seeing that we have like 17 people in the group, it was impossible to get a table in Pizza Hut, so we split. Some of them went to Marry Brown’s and the rest of us went to Secret Recipe. How am I supposed to save money like this? T_T.

After lunch, we went straight for PC Fair at the stadium. Kinda disappointed seeing the place not having much. Although, it was pretty impressive seeing the place to have a lot of people. I seriously prefer the one at KLCC; 3 floors of tech, that’s a geek’s wet dream. So, we all left empty handed, and went back to Bintang. Started walking around blindly, but I wanted to get a foot massage. Nadira joined me, 40 minutes for RM28. Not bad. The pain in my ankle is gone, after 3 weeks. That guy was good. Now I know why my mom goes for this often (but in a different place, back in PJ).

After the massage, we went to watch a movie. Furry Vengeance. Funny, starring Brendan Fraser. Haven’t seen this guy act since The Mummy part 3. The movie nice, I’d give it a 5.5 out of 10. It was kinda like a cross between Dr. Dolittle 2, and Evan Almighty. What I discovered… rats. In that cinema. One climbed up the upholstered wall of the cinema, and it climbed back down half an hour later. Gosh, I hate that cinema. RM9 for a ticket is too much. -_-

Anyway, after the movie, we went to have dinner at a place called Madli. Best chicken satay I’ve tasted since I left Kajang (not saying I stayed at Kajang, but I visited. Haha.). We ate, talked crap and left. Addy called us, asked us to join her for drinks at Eve’s Corner. I wonder why she likes hanging out there, but we just do it. Albert and Summer always agrees when she asks to hang out. Like, almost immediately. Nadira wanted to go home, so we went back to Curtin, sent her home. Supposedly, Nurul, Arina, and Teck Ann and originally, I wanted to go home, but after telling (the story in the next paragraphy plus some additions), we got freaked out and didn’t want to go back. So we followed to Eve’s Corner. There, we told the story.

The night before the mid term, a foreign degree student from Kenya named Moha died in the hospital with lung infection. Few days ago, he was diagnosed with the same problem and was admitted, but he got better and went home. That night, his symptoms presented again and was admitted. It got worse and he died. That was around midnight. At about 1am, my friend Conie was sleeping. Then suddenly she felt something pushing her down and trying to lift her up at the same time. She couldn’t open her eyes, she couldn’t scream and just kept praying. Once she could open her eyes, her roomate, Anusha woke up also, seemed like she suffered the same thing. After Anusha turned on the light, they could see shadows flying around the ceiling. What’s scary about this was that, after they turned the lights on, Anusha got the text saying Moha died.

And the story continues…

My other friend, Nurul was in the bathroom at about 3am that night. Supposedly, that was after the time Conie woke up. In the bathroom, she felt like she saw a shadow of a person flying on the ceiling. She didn’t dare to look up. Freaked out, she went into her room telling her roommate about it. Thing is, Nurul and Conie share the same house unit. Which is across the road from mine.

So, we started talking about ghosts. AGAIN?! Albert was telling about how freaked out he was after watching Paranormal Activities in the cinema. Then there came the story about bad dreams. I had one when I napped in the middle of the day. Had a dream about me being chased by something in my neighborhood. It grabbed me by the arm and ripped it out of the socket. I woke up, finding my whole right arm numb and feeling like a dead weight. Scary, but I explained it by noticing that I slept ON the arm. That was when I was 15.

When I came home last night, I was a bit shook up about the stories. I think this was all my imagination, but when I opened the door to my house, I thought I saw some thing fly outside the back window of my house. I took it as my eyes and my mind playing tricks on me. I washed my feet, turned on iTunes and went to sleep. I slept without disturbance except for the occasional rock song that suddenly played on iTunes. This morning, I woke up, bathed, and had breakfast. Like any given Sunday. Haha.

What’s in store for today? I’m probably gonna go out with Albert, again, to Bintang because supposedly yesterday I was going to take my glasses for fixing. I didn’t bring it because we went to Bintang straight after the exam. Haih. Oh, and Conie is gonna go to the temple today and Albert’s her transport.

I didn’t have my camera yesterday either, so I have no pictures to show. Haha.

Teetering.

7 05 2010

Drove off it. Stopped halfway. Now I’m teetering on the cliff between failure and mediocrity.

Today I had half a mind not to go for Chemistry tutorial because I wanted to spend the morning doing my Islamic Studies assignments and try to study a bit of E. Maths. After finishing the assignments, I decided to just go for tutorials. Luckily I went because I found out my Chemistry mid term results. As good as I would’ve hoped for with my level of study. Not gonna write it here though.

After Friday prayers, which I was really sleepy on the bus ride there, I had a big lunch, then headed over to Islamic Studies lecture where I submitted my assignments. Such relief. During the lecture, I was partly drawing up a design for my KAP rig. I notice one design had been better than the last. So, if I just keep drawing, I might just have my final design. Probably eventually with proper measurements. Haha.

I love photography. Really wished I had a professional level camera to play with, but it’s just way too costly now.  Panasonic GF series is perfect for KAPing. Hope I get it within the next 3 years.

Again, I was browsing through my LUMIX album and found a picture I thought was pretty cool. I found one picture, of a couple of strangers in a sunset.

Trust me, they’re total strangers. Haha.

Guess that’s my quota for today. My internet’s getting weak. Pray I get to post this. Gonna get to studying now. Bye Bye.
